SODIUM LIGNOSULFONATE

Sodium Lignosulfonate is a Sodium Salt of Lignosulfonic Acid, which is produced as a by-product during the sulfite pulping process used in the manufacture of paper. It is a brownish powder that is soluble in water, has a slightly sour taste as a dispersant, binder, and plasticizer. In construction, it is used as an admixture for concrete to improve workability, reduce water demand, and increase resistance to freeze-thaw cycles. In agriculture, it is used as a spray adjuvant to improve pesticide efficacy. In animal feed, it is used as a binder for pellets and as a source of electrolytes for ruminants. It is also used in ceramics as a dispersant and binder.
